A Car With No Name

Well I've been through the desert in a car with no name
It felt good to be out of the rain
In the desert you can remember your name
for there ain't no one for to give you no pain
Lar laaaaaar lar lalalala lar lar laaar lar la

Yeah corny but we played it anyway (America – Horse With No Name)

The road was only open to 4WD but we decided our car with no name could do it so off we went. .

It is a little over 200k, We were on the road from just before 8am to just before 4pm. Of course we stopped along the way and checked out a sculpture park, imagined The Man With No Name at ruins from the old Ghan, dropped into Lake Eyre where we went for walk to find water.......and failed, had a look at some cool mound springs, one of which quite aptly is named 'The Bubbler', visited some other springs for a swim........or at least a refreshing dip, closely examined the options for the creek/mud crossings that seemed to occur every 5-10k, stretched with a walk around a clay pan, stretched again to look at a red dune, also a gibber plain, had a quick pause to repair the car.......now I know why many many 4WDs have the spare wheel bolted to the back......it's a bugger emptying the car to get to tools. So really, you know …........ normal stuff.

We did though, make it to William Creek and loved the adventure. It was getting hot, it was at times a little scary, but always beautiful. Not gonna write much more tonight. I wanna go to the William Creek pub which looks like a scream. I want a beer.

So just some photos.
