Still they had a pool and we used it to cool down, made ourselves some salad for tea and hit the sack. Marjan woke me because a light was bugging her. It wasn't bugging me so why should I be woken. Still: apparently that is how marriages work. What are you going to do? I placed the Surface Pro in front of the spot in the windows and off we went to noddy land.
It was such a pleasure in the morning to be driving on bitumen, and at some speed. We were making tracks as there was not much to see. OK some brumbies with a baby brumbie.....a brumbibebe perhaps. Some camels, that Marjan saw a bit late and gave her a fright, some raptors, and in particular some huge wedge tail eagles.
We paused at Kulgera for a coffee. The countryside had some subtle and interesting changes but we just kept on choogling. A pause at a picnic spot along the Lassiter Highway was bought nets.
Got to Yulara before check in time so went out to the rock. ep it is a cliche, a bloody big, impressive cliche, it has to be said.
Our room is luxurious, This is the decadent phase of the accommodation. Tin can in William Creek, mini-apartment in Yulara. We bought some groceries, had an early dinner and headed out to view the sunset light on the rock. Yep still a cliche, but weloved it none the less. On our way back, we stopped off at the backpackers viewing area (no park fees, and walking distance from the camp ground). Nice view of the Olgas (I'll get the name sorted before we leave).
Just as a matter of interest, I took 280 photos of the cliche,
Wedgies and budgies? No nothing to do with our unmentionables. We have now seen plenty of wedgies, but we were told it was a good year for budgies and Marjan is hanging out to see some in the wild.
